How­ev­er, stu­dents who are pas­sion­ate about peo­ple can find suc­cess in human ser­vices with an afford­able education.

We’ve devot­ed the fol­low­ing arti­cle to high­light­ing the 15 Cheap­est Bach­e­lor’s Degrees in Psy­chol­o­gy across Amer­i­ca. To begin, we used the NCES Col­lege Nav­i­ga­tor tool to fil­ter pub­lic and pri­vate, non­prof­it insti­tu­tions con­fer­ring a psy­chol­o­gy major. We sole­ly searched for region­al­ly accred­it­ed schools with at least 1,000 pupils study­ing on-site or online. Pref­er­ence was giv­en to col­leges open­ly aligned with the APA’s under­grad­u­ate guide­lines. The aver­age in-state, full-time tuition was record­ed for each school. Our final list­ing only includ­ed col­leges that charge under $8,000 annu­al­ly before finan­cial aid. Although afford­abil­i­ty was a pri­or­i­ty, we also judged rep­u­ta­tion by rank­ings, class size, expe­ri­en­tial learn­ing, cur­ricu­lum diver­si­ty, and place­ment rates.

Here are our selec­tions for the 15 Cheap­est Bach­e­lor’s Degrees in Psychology:

1. New Mexico Highlands University

Based in Las Vegas with learn­ing exten­sions in Rio Ran­cho, San­ta Fe, Espanola, Farm­ing­ton, and more, New Mex­i­co High­lands Uni­ver­si­ty is an afford­able pub­lic, co-edu­ca­tion­al insti­tu­tion edu­cat­ing over 3,700 Cow­boys and Cow­girls. On Niche, New Mex­i­co High­land Uni­ver­si­ty placed 100th for “Col­leges with the Best Pro­fes­sors in Amer­i­ca.” For only $4,800 per year, New Mex­i­cans can pur­sue a B.A. or B.S. in Psy­chol­o­gy through the Col­lege of Arts and Sci­ences.
